Avery was born...a month ago

It's shameful, I know, that it's taken a month to announce the birth of our daughter. She was born on November 23, at 10:25 am, and she weighed 6 lbs 4 oz.
When she was born we knew we wanted to name her Avery, but the middle name wasn't settled yet. Tyler wanted Elizabeth, but I wasn't so sure. Well the vital records lady came around the day before we brought her home and needed the name so since Tyler wasn't there I decided to go with Kay as her middle name. Kay is Tyler's moms middle name and my grandma's maiden name. So Avery Kay is her name, and she is perfect.
Tommy is sweet with her. He gives her kisses and he likes to point out her facial features. So far he doesn't seem to be too jealous of her, I guess since she doesn't try to take his toys then he doesn't care much she's around.
So far she's a fairly laid back kid. She has an appetite like a horse, and sleeps 3-4 hours at a time. She's had a few rough nights, but overall she does pretty well.

So needless to say Tyler and I are pretty happy with the youngins.

Oh, Tyler started his new job up in Falls Church. He's staying with our friends the Thomas' during the week. They've been nice enough to let all of us stay with them several times while we've been looking for a place to live. So far we haven't had any luck, but I'm going up again this week, so hopefully we'll hit the jackpot. I'll let you know how it goes.

Since it's been awhile I figured it was time to give an update on Tommy. He is now 19 months old, and growing soooo fast. Most of the time he's a happy kid, until he's getting teeth in and then the inner demon comes out. But other then that he's super laid back.
He's started to talk more, and to name a few words he says: baby, cracker, daddy, papa, on a rare occasion he says mommy, milk, juice, wawa, light, please, ball, walk, side (short for inside or outside), shoes, leaf, let's go, all done, tractor, moo, cat, puppy, bubbles, wheel, but his all time favorite word is car. Although it comes out caaa, he has a little Boston accent, it's very cute.
He loves cars, his favorite pastime is to sit in the car, turn the wheel, and push all the buttons.
One of his favorite places to go is the car dealership, because he can get in all the different cars in the showroom. He also loves to blow bubbles, when we pull into the driveway he frequently will start saying bubbles over and over again, and if we can't stop and play with them before we go inside he throws a fit. Really I think he would spend all day outside no matter how hot it is or how many mosquitoes are swarming. He loves to go on walks, and see all the puppy's.
When he wants something in another room he'll take our hands and lead us to the desired plaything.
He hates getting his hair cut and screams whenever we have it cut, which has only been twice, so his hair is perpetually too long and always a mess of blonde curls, as you can see for yourself from the pictures.
So I know there is more to add about him, but this post is already bordering on short story length, and not everyone is as enamored with Tommy as I am so I'll cut it short now. Hopefully it won't be four months before another update, but I offer no promises. Oh and yes in above picture he is hanging off the oven. And yes I know it's not safe, but I had to get a picture of it.

It's been ages since we found out and I'm pretty sure everyone has probably already heard, but for the sake of recording things I'll say it anyway. We are expected another child, a girl, and she's due December 3, which would make me about 26 weeks along. Feeling pretty good now, had the usual yucka feelings of nausea and vomiting, but thankfully that has passed.
So far we are unsure of a name, we have a couple names we're throwing around, but nothing absolute yet. We have decided that our fall back name will be Reagan Olivia, so if we haven't decided on anything else by the time she's born, she's coming home a Reagan. We'll keep you posted...maybe (you know how I am about posting).

not diswasher safe

Whenever I start to do the dishes, Tommy crawls on over to "help", which mainly consists of him taking out the rack and climbing in to spin the piece at on the bottom. So needless to say I don't do many dishes if Tyler not home to entertain the rugrat. But it's a funny picture so I thought I would share.

First Haircut

On March 4 Thomas had his first hair cut, and while the end product is very cute, the actual experience was a bit of a debacle. From the second they put the cape on him and sprayed water in his hair Tommy cried. He started out sitting in the chair and then practically leaped out of it and into my lap where he clung to my neck for the next 15 minutes. He looks so grown up, with his curls chopped off, but he's very cute.
Tommy turned one on January 23, and he is an excellent crawler and climber, he's still working on walking. He does really well with his walker or if he hold on to our fingers, but has not quite conquered those first steps alone yet. He's always babbling about something, I just wish I could understand him. He does well with daddy, uh oh, and sometimes he says mommy (not very often though). He also can do a wicked meow, which he learned from Georgia, our cat.
He is always eating, I think that people think we never feed him, because whenever we go places he eats everybody's food.
He also does this cute thing when there's music playing he waves his arm around like he's leading it. I think he learned it in church from watching the conductor, but now he'll do it in the car, or if we're listening to music in the house. Oh, he's also starting to get more clingy and afraid of strangers, which is different for him, but over all he's still a happy kid. Tyler and I think he's pretty perfect. He's been so snuggly lately and gives us lots of hugs, which we love.
I know this is a long post, but when it's months between posts there's a lot to say.
I apologize about the pictures, I know one of them is sideways, I'm not too computer or blog savvy.

We finally had family pictures taken. They were taken on January 16 and the lake was still frozen so you would think that we would be wearing jackets. Oh no, no warm winter wear for our family. But I think they turned out good. Linda Gardner a friend of ours took the pictures and she did a great job.
